L'espirit de Escalier, means "The Spirit of the Staircase," in French. This is Collin's song about heartwrenching loss of love and someone walking out on love. The song in itself is a musical odyssey begining with a person's realization of their posessiveness and finally giving into the fact that sex and lust are only sought after in vain.
lyrics
Why
Why am I so obsessive?
You barely grazed against me,
Now you're already in my mind.
Why...
Why am I so obsessive?
Why...
Why am I so damn posessive?
Because I want you baby,
I need your company,
Wanna fuck you baby,
Say "I want you inside me."
I wanna kiss you and hold you,
and I really wanna,
Feel your heartbeat,
Heavy, heavy... And I was...
Oooh yeah, Oooh yeah.
And I was soo tied up to say,
Thinking about you now tears my heartstrings. Heartstrings.
I was soo tied up to say,
Thinking about you tears my heartstrings. Heartstrings.
I was soo tied up to say,
Thinking about you tears my heartstrings. Heartstrings.
I was soo tied up to say,
Thinking about you tears my heartstrings. Heartstrings.
I was soo tied up to say, I was soo tied up to say, yeah.
I was soo tied up to say, I was soo tied up to say, yeah.
I was soo tied up to say, I was soo tied up. Yeah.
Yeah!
I was soo tied up.
I was soo tied up.
L'espirit d'escalier, L'espirit d'escalier,
Sex & lust don't play.
L'espirit d'escalier, L'espirit d'escalier,
Sex & lust don't play.
L'espirit d'escalier, L'espirit d'escalier,
Sex & lust don't play.
L'espirit d'escalier, L'espirit d'escalier,
Sex & lust don't play. Don't play.

The name of the band fell from the lips of our good musician friend, Grady Hemm. That was when all we had for open mics was
a simple guitar, a kick drum and a floor tom. Grady stated to me that what we should try to bring to our music was a punky, primal beat that makes you twitch, and spit on the stage. Many weeks later in April 2017, Kicking Tom was born....more
"Pearl Earl are like if Pentangle were a villainous cartoon rock band in an old episode of Josie & the Pussycats... an avalanche of 400-ton Black Sabbath riffs." —J. Edward Keyes Kicking Tom
Pencil Fight, has a very interesting mixture of Jazz and 80s Synth Landscapes. There is a hint of Miles Davis running through the keys, but it is cut like a knife by jutting synth sounds that jolt in. Kicking Tom
"The work (Nico Niquo, In A Silent Way) contains slowly evolving compositions and sound meditations based around the palette of modern grime music minus the percussion." Similar to Pauline Anna Strom. Kicking Tom
